COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) — Justin Herbert was expected to be directing one of the NFL’s elite offenses this season. As the Los Angeles Chargers reach the midway point though, the offense remains a work in progress. The Chargers (4-4) go into Sunday’s game against the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions ranked 15th in the league in total offense, averaging 341 yards per game. “We are where we are right now. I think that this group is still figuring it out together, but I like the group that we are coaching and I like the way this group’s competing,” coach Brandon Staley said. The offense gained only 191 yards in last Monday’s 27-6 win over the New York Jets. It was the first time since 2018 the Chargers had fewer than 200 offensive yards, but only the fifth time in franchise history they won when it happened. An outing such as that certainly wasn’t expected when the Chargers hired Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator during the offseason. Celtics’ late comeback bid falls short against 76ers in second consecutive loss

Published Wed, 05 Mar 2025 18:53:40 GMT

Unbelievably, the Celtics had a chance. Looking lethargic for nearly 48 minutes, and trailing by as many as 14, they had a look to tie it. A really good look. Derrick White found Kristaps Porzingis deep beyond the 3-point line. The big man pump faked. Then he stepped into a wide-open 3-pointer.It grazed off the front rim.Too little, too late. The Celtics were down 104-90 with two minutes to go before engineering a furious comeback. The Celtics were too out of sorts. It took too long for them to wake up and they were unable to overcome their struggles in a frustrating 106-103 loss to the 76ers in Philadelphia. After looking sharp and winning in different ways to start 5-0, the Celtics have hit their first road bump of the season and their first test of adversity. They were unable to respond after the first los...
