AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police Officer Jorge “George” Pastore, who died in the line of duty Nov. 11, will be honored in Austin Friday morning.Law enforcement is expected to begin setting up for the funeral procession at 7 a.m., and all vehicles equipped with emergency lights and sirens were invited to join. The procession for Pastore’s final patrol will begin at 8 a.m.KXAN will use this story to host the livestream of the procession and funeral. HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Hays County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to be on the lookout for a 17-year-old girl who went missing on Wednesday, Nov. 8. According to HCSO, Kristiana Grant, 17, was dropped off at school by her grandmother on Nov. 8 and did not return home from school that evening. Grant is believed to be in the San Marcos area at an apartment complex off LBJ Drive, HCSO said. Hays County officials are searching for Kristiana Grant, 17, who went missing from Hays County on Nov. 17. AUSTIN (KXAN) – Austin Police said Thursday the department had launched its latest DWI No Refusal Initiative, this one coinciding with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Officers will be patrolling each night from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. from Thursday until Nov. 26, which is the Sunday after Thanksgiving. During No Refusal periods, APD said officers will apply for blood search warrants on suspects who refuse to provide a breath or blood specimen as required by law. (NEWS10) -- According to the New York State Department of Labor Warn Unity, all Capital Region ShopRites originally planned to close on December 9 will now close on Saturday, November 18. An inmate at the Weld County jail died Thursday night after experiencing a “medical emergency” while in custody, the 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team reported in a Friday morning news release.The news release did not include many details about the incident or explain what was the emergency.The inmate, who was not identified, had an emergency at 11:47 p.m. at the jail. They were taken to the Northern Colorado Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.The Weld County Coroner’s Office will identify them.This is an active investigation, the news release stated, and more details will be released as they become available.Another in-custody death occurred Thursday morning in Denver. A storm is headed toward Southern California for the upcoming weekend but it will bring much less rain than previously anticipated. “Now that we know that the low-pressure system is going to stay well to the north of us, the bulk of rain will fall in through northern, central California,” KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said.
