Denver Mayor Mike Johnston’s administration released the location of 11 sites across the city Thursday morning, describing nine of the sites as likely locations for so-called micro-communities designed to house people experiencing homelessness. All told, the 11 properties, owned by public agencies or private partners willing to work with the city, could provide enough space to house 1,000 people living on the streets. Johnston set a goal on his second day in office of offering housing to 1,000 unhoused residents of the city by the end of the year. The preliminary list released Thursday does not mean the administration’s work is near-finished, Johnston emphasized. There is still permitting and site work required at many of the 11 preliminary options and the administration is continuing to negotiate with other property owners privately to secure more options.“We think all of these are promising sites that could work and they provide us a path to 1,000,” Johnston ...Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy carted off practice field with apparent right leg injury

So test samples had to be sent back to the CDC for processing, wasting time and leaving state officials “sort of blind to what the situation was with the disease,” said St. George, chief of the laboratory of viral diseases at the Wadsworth Center, one of the nation’s largest state public health labs.“It was extremely unfortunate that it happened at such a critical time, in the early days of this emerging pandemic,” she said.An independent panel of laboratory researchers, public health and policy experts, and doctors say the CDC’s flawed diagnostic test was one of the “most consequential” of the agency’s pandemic missteps be...CHP investigating freeway gunfire near Bay Bridge toll plaza
